Ghanesh Das (born. Georgetown, Guyana and grew up in London, England) is a Toronto-based graphic artist, visual artist and art instructor. His artistic practice includes traditional and digital media. His philosophy, work and methodology explore the semiotics of mark making, abstraction and pictorial design. Beginning as a graffiti and mural artist in the 1980s, and with 25 years of graphic communication employment – he has now returned to the visual arts as a practicing and exhibiting artist.
Ghanesh Das and his painting “Bomb Blast” was selected from over thousands of entries as part of the longlist for the UK’s highly acclaimed Aesthetica Art Prize 2013. His work, “The Burning”, has also been juried into Manifest Creative, International Painting Annual INPA3.
